The Marriage

After much hassle and long days, lengthy discussions spent planning, the wedding day finally arrived and the morning was spent in sweaty anxiety, thinking of the many things that could go wrong. The first sign of trouble was when Yat's make-up artist arrived 90 minutes late (!),thankfully this had no effect on the event overall, the akad nikah ceremony (which was,in my opinion, highly patriarchal in nature and i blame no one but tradition for this practice of prejudice) in the morning passed breezily and close to nothing went wrong in the afternoon.I'll skip the tiresome wedding details and talk about how this meant so much to my family and myself-it wasn't until the wedding was almost over, when the tribute montage was played for guests that i realised the gravity of my sister's departure into marriage-those pictures from our rocky childhood in the montage reminded me of how much fun my siblings and i had as children, and how Sha and myself felt a bit disconnected when Yat ascended into teenagehood as both of us remained young and gullible, and how all these events and relationships have shaped who we are today. And now that Yat's off to start her own life,i'm left to wonder when that day will come for the rest of us and whether we'll achieve the same luck with fate she has.Enough talk, here are some pics from the event,i might post some later (there are few here).

Marriage.Haih,que sera sera.
