I don't know what the deal with Transformers is.People are going "Oh,I can't wait to see the new Transformers movie!"-and personal sentiments aside,I kind of grudgingly see the appeal.There's promise of giant robots,gratuitous eye candy and things constantly going kaboom."Cool!".Kind of like past Michael Bay movies,except not at all.Armageddon and Bad Boys II though equally vacuous,had some form of personality.Transformers had tits and robots-and like the average joe,I can tolerate a bad movie and occasionally even enjoy it.But this was just so loud and obnoxious,nothing was likeable about it.Nilch.The second worst movie I saw that year (I am Legend tops the stink list).The dreaded sequel came out today,reviews have appeared everywhere:

It's not the extravagant fireworks display that rankles, it's everything else: the dull and pompous exposition, the trite characterizations, the tacky love story, the dismal comic relief and incongruous pretensions to the status of a popcorn epic.

from CNNs review,which I really enjoyed reading."Exactly how I felt (about the first movie)",I thought.I haven't seen "Revenge of the Fallen",maybe I will and with much,much lowered expectations I think it won't be too bad.

1. Got locked out of the house a night ago,the always absent security people made a short appearance by the foyer and proved unhelpful,though they did mention that hiring a locksmith would cost about $200.I think I'll put that down as my second career option now."So Al,what do you work as?"."I open doors"."Wow,amazing."."I didn't go to university for nothing,you know."Thankfully,I was rescued by fellow Hobo Adopter R who lent me space to sleep and Peter Alexander pyjama pants.Super comfy,best thing since pantlessness.

2. Masterchef goes to Hong Kong! I don't like Sam,he has a weirdly-shaped head.CHRIS 4EVA.I'm going to get that tattooed somewhere naughty.

3. I miss my cat Hiro.I hope he lives long enough to see me get rich enough to buy him a mansion of his own,all the masculine cat accesories money can afford (spike collar,tiny leather boots and a viking hat).He's not much of a talker,or one to purr and cuddle but I know when I see him,after nearly 6 months-there'll be that glimmer of recognition in his eyes.Twinkle,twinkle,magic superstar.

Early morning,immense fog overtook the city.The whole day,butt stuck solid on one spot in the library my mind wandered to one long,daydream.About this crazy zombie film I want to make-I know its a long shot,but dreams are dreams and mine are unkillable-and I thought of a huge abandoned metropolis,pre-zombie humanoids and red/green viles.Anyway,the whole atmosphere would be gloomy,sterile,eeriely but peacefully quiet and ( apoclyptic ).And that morning when the fog came,it was like this vision in my head crawled itself out into reality-in sharp neon rays blurred by the mist,the strange vibrating muteness of the night and empty roads.Vacuous,hollowed out,a feeling would stir inside : tomorrow,the world would change.It'd be the final dawn before few would start to mutate-and in the space of a short time my hero would awaken,and struggle,but eventually take his destiny by its horns.Yes,I daydream like a 4 year old.More pics to come after exams.

Lily Allen after filming her part for Neighbours.Maybe she's a fan of the show?Is that Turk?Anyway,I need to clean up & shave-seeing her at the Forum in 2 hours.From blogs & such,I know she'll close the night with 'Womanizer' but I really hope to not leave without first hearing..all her songs..

1. Had a seafood platter Family Pack for dinner.Bought in Aldi,where things are cheap and mostly dodgy.The pack said take out pack and put in oven for 12 minutes,I stupidly complied and had a situation with burning plastic for a moment.

2. Dad sent an email with three paragraphs about how anger destroys you,allegedly quoted from the Dalai Lama.I replied asking him why he sees me as a hitler in the making,feels the need to play prophet and he called two seconds later saying Don't miscrontue,son It's just something I want to share.

3. There's a show on channel 10 called Recruits,focusing on some below-20s who joined the force and have to deal with dangerous bogans prowling the city on Saturday night and such.A brilliant show I think,while some of us waste away on glitter there are few who wake up to serve and learn.

4. New issue of I-D (3ooth issue-multiple covers!) has a two-page writeup on the YYYs and some pretty nice shots of Nick & Brian (both vegetarians).On Karen O :"If she stuck up her middle finger in a light socket you could see proof lit from within; a bulging muscle heart beating hard like a machine inside her tiny skeleton".Obvious the writer's a fan,resulting in one of the best article on the band I've read.

Released in 2000,I saw it a couple months ago.I think its a real definitive piece of work,director Darren Aronofsky may have or will continue to make great movies but this will be the benchmark,a personal best.I found the film to be really draining emotionally,taps into your deepest fears.Ellen Burstyn was of course the best part it,even thinking about her character makes me tear up a bit.But also,the music and the fact that Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly both have really pretty and haunting eyes.I'll need some time before a second viewing,but here's a scene that sort of sums up how depressing it was.

I, too, was skeptical at first.
